Estate Planning
Estate planning is the process of discussing your wishes and putting proper documentation in place so that upon your death, these wishes may be carried out. Depending on where you are in life, estate planning may include:
- Putting a will in place to name your executor and the beneficiaries of your estate
- Naming guardians for your children
- Creating trusts to protect your beneficiaries and your assets post-death
- Updating beneficiaries on accounts such as life insurance, 401ks, and other investment accounts
- Determining which beneficiaries should receive which assets
- Leaving a legacy to charities or organizations of your choice
- Planning for estate taxes or other potential complications
At Lucas Group, we are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice or draft legal documents for you. However, we do incorporate estate planning in your financial plan, review documents that are currently in place, and provide education on some of the options available to you. We will work closely with you and your estate planning attorney to make sure that your investments are aligned with your estate goals and that the attorney has all the necessary financial information that may impact their recommendations.
